We are looking for individuals with outstanding retail skills as well as the passion to excel and move into a meat department position within the company. If you want to be part of McKinnon's Markets and Super Butcher Shop, this is the ideal place to start. Bring us your retail knowledge and leadership skills and we will train you in McKinnon's Markets and Super Butcher Shop operations and culture.

DUTIES

1. Perform all duties and responsibilities of Meat Associate in Grind, Pack or Marinade rooms.
2. Prepare specialty merchandise and package as appropriate.
3. Break merchandise and prepare specialty merchandise; rotate stock properly.
4. Maintain team policy and operating standards.
5. Open and close department according to established procedures.
6. Learn all aspects of cutting including achieving margin and high productivity.
7. Provide excellent customer service and regularly practice and model suggestive selling techniques.
8. Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, and stocking product.
9. Comply with all applicable state health and safety codes.
10. Maintain clean and sanitary operating environment.
11. Complete any and all documentation as required.
12. Assist in training as delegated by Department Manager.
13. Support store programs.
14. Communicate team concerns to the Department Manager. Perform other duties as assigned by Store Manager, Meat Manager and Supervisor.
15. Courteous and proper etiquette when answering phones and pages.
16. Give timely customer feedback to Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
17. Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.


QUALIFICATIONS

1. A desire to grow with the Meat Department.
2. Knowledge of basic Meat cooking procedures
3. Willingness to taste and evaluate all products offered in department.
4. Proper handling of knives and other cutting equipment.
